Kühn Keramik
—
Bernd Kühn is an exceptionally gifted ceramic artist. He creates easy-to-use tables and kitchenware, and while he will not try to re-invent a cup or a tile, he likes to interpret them in their fanciest and most inventive ways.
He is inspired by the “Golden Ages” – The Baroque period, life at court, affluence and glamour – to which he applies ironic, subversive references. These influences are visible throughout his work. For Thomas Erber’s Cabinet de Curiosités in Berlin, he has worked with tiles to create a tableau depicting Yorckstraße, a Berlin subway station into which the affluent language and abundance of his creativity flow.
