Military Trench Coat

Waterproof cotton, lambskin
Unique Piece

Two philosophers start a fashion label. That is the unlikely, yet appealing premise behind Melindagloss, a Paris-based menswear collection by Mathieu de Ménonville and Rémi de Laquintane, whose shared vision of modern menswear has led to unexpected encounters of the classical and contemporary design worlds. A global sensory viewpoint informs the Melinda Gloss universe, allowing Ménonville and Laquintane to push the boundaries of the genre into experiences beyond fashion, reaching the worlds of art, film and even fine liquors. The Melinda Gloss collections are shown on the Paris menswear calendar, representing a sense of “art de vivre” through uncompromising materials, a relaxed but studied silhouette, and the graphic injection of contemporary art prints and colours into an elegant French wardrobe.

Melinda Gloss designed a bespoke trenchcoat inspired by the French military uniform of the 1950s, engineered to suit the needs of a modern traveller. This unique piece has been crafted in the Paris ateliers from water-repellent cotton and trimmed with soft lambskin detailing on the belt, collar, and cuffs – its half-lined, raglan-sleeve construction allowing for a contoured and elegant silhouette that is light and portable. It displays a subtle mix of nostalgia, aesthetics and utility for the savvy globetrotter.
